SmartWitness announced today the addition of Garo Sarkissian to its board of directors as an Independent Director. Mr. Sarkissian’s extensive telematics and IoT industry background is expected to contribute to the shaping and implementation of the strategic direction of SmartWitness.
SmartWitness is a leading provider of video telematics, IoT technologies and solutions that improve fleet management, safety and driver behavior. Its global customer-base include leading telematics service providers, insurance providers, and cellular carriers.

Garo Sarkissian joins the SmartWitness board with over 32 years’ experience in the wireless and IoT industries, encompassing leading product and solution developments, entrepreneurial ventures and extensive corporate development activities including strategy, M&A, fundraising and investor relations. He is currently the CEO of Dune Labs, an IoT technology startup he co-founded in 2019 to provide innovative water metering solutions. Prior to Dune, he served as an executive officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at CalAmp Corp, a telematics and IoT global market leader, where he was instrumental in driving CalAmp’s innovation and growth over a span of 14 years. He holds an MBA degree from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Irvine, and a BS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
